This Has Been A Total Blast!

After 10 fun-filled years of operation at 111 W. Liberty, We at Acme Mercantile have decided not to renew our lease. Instead, we will be expanding into new territory with our online store, which is undergoing a complete overhaul and will launch in the next week or so.  It has always been my passion to create more unique Acme branded products and have a wider range of home design price points, while still keeping with our original concept of small department store.  This transition will allow the brand to grow and the variety we offer to expand. 

Acme Mercantile will continue to vend at events and do occasional pop-up stores in the area and offer next day pick-up at Salon Vertigo of online purchases

When we close this location, we will sell many Acme favorites such as clothing, readers and sunglasses, greeting cards, jewelry and accessories at our sister store Salon Vertigo at 212 S. Fourth Ave.

In the meantime, all merchandise at Acme Mercantile is 20% off during this transition.

Acme gets arty...

I was looking for something spectacular to replace our holiday window, something to make people stop and look, something to make them smile during the slow, grey dark days of January. Well! I believe we found just the right thing...

It is an installation done by Matt O'Brien using florescent bulbs arranged to look like a cozy chair. This was no simple task, as it had to be assembled on site and became even more of a pain for the artist after I broke one of the bulbs 20 minutes after he left.

I like to call it the "Electric Chair" and placed our line of mugshot photo cards and journals from "The Found" to make a nice little arty window. Come by and see it soon!

Celebrating 7 years!

We are happy to be celebrating our 7th anniversary! Come by on Sunday the 15th for a free Acme button. Lucky us, our 7th coincides with the Main Street Area promotion "Let Godzilla be Your Guide" window display contest, which I have taken very seriously. This will truly be the most spectacular window ever...

Windows will be unveiled Friday, November 13th and voting runs through Midnight Madness on December 4th. Participating merchants will have Godzilla feet on the sidewalk outside their establishment as well as a small version of the Godzilla seen above in their windows.

Participating business will also be offering an early holiday shopping incentive for the week of 11/13 - 11/19.
